A visit from a Delegation from the Latin Church to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic
On January 8, 2023, President Bashar Hafez al-Assad welcomed a delegation from the Latin Church in Syria, led by the new Bishop Hanna Moussa Jallouf, and accompanied by the heads of the religious orders affiliated with the Latin community:
The Franciscan Fathers, the Jesuit Fathers, the Salesian Fathers, the Lazarite Fathers, and the Capuchin Fathers. The meeting was friendly, during which a number of issues related to the members of the Church, Christians, and Syrians in general were discussed, in order for them to remain rooted in their land and steadfast in their human and spiritual values that they have cherished since childhood.
Mr. President congratulated the new Latin bishop and wished him a fruitful service.
The bishop in turn wished Mr. President good health and continued success in serving the country and its citizens amidst the crises and challenges facing beloved Syria.
