Under the auspices Of His Excellency Bishop Hanna Jallouf, the Conference of the Consecrated Men and Women in Syria was held, which was titled
“Together Towards Depth”
Held at Al-Wadi Hotel in Almishtaya from October 7th to 10th, 2024, the conference brought together a large number of consecrated men and women in Syria to discuss the reality and challenges of consecrated life.
With the words
“Let us search for depth and for who awaits us there, and cast our nets where the catch is abundant”
The conference began its first day with a celebratory Mass presided over by His Excellency Bishop Hanna Jallouf, followed by formative meetings.
Several lectures were delivered during this meeting, including:
- The call to consecration within the realm of the Holy Bible (His Excellency Bishop George Khawam)
- Artificial intelligence and its effects on consecrated life (Brother George Saba’a)
- What is meant by the call to renew consecrated life according to Church documents (Father Firas Letfi)
- Projects supporting the mission of consecrated life (Brother Robert shalhad)
- Do protection policies for minors and the vulnerable fall within the plans and programs of our consecrated lives? (Sister Mary Rose Al-Barkil)
- Consecrated life and the Synodal journey (Father Rami Elias, Jesuit)
